Other projects currently on view include Trumpet Flower, a sculpture and shade structure by Patrick Renner and Flying Carpet, and Sidewalk Cinema, a media corner featuring a rotating reel of contemporary video works curated by the Aurora Picture Show. She is affiliated with Davis Gallery in Austin, LumenArte Gallery in Dallas and Cindy Lisica Gallery in Houston, where the Year of the Rooster paintings and other recent works will be featured in a solo exhibition opening in September.Īrt Blocks is curated jointly by the Downtown District and the Downtown District Public Art Committee, with project consultant Weingarten Art Group. She lives in Killeen and maintains a studio at Canopy in Austin. Pak received her Bachelor's from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her Master's from Yale University School of Art. By using this source material and tromp l'oeil techniques, she hopes to spark the viewer's appreciation for the ancient art. Pak frequently uses origami as inspiration for her oil-on-canvas paintings. Year of the Rooster presents three views of an origami rooster: a profile view looking left, heralding the new year another looking right, saying goodbye and a view of the flattened decorative paper with geometric patterns formed by the folds. ![]()
